Black Dagger Brotherhood reading order

A long vampire-warrior run. Publication order, as Ward lists it, is the first-read path. The cases and pairings accumulate. So do the politics.

Ward’s page interleaves the Legacy novels and marks an Insider’s Guide. This house keeps the Brotherhood novels in her sequence and puts Legacy and the extras in labeled rooms. A first read can be Brotherhood novels only.

The Brotherhood novels

The Black Dagger Brotherhood: An Insider’s Guide sits after Lover Enshrined on Ward’s list. It is a companion, not novel 7. A later anniversary guide exists. Neither is an on-ramp.

Lover Enthroned is an announced later Brotherhood novel. It is not a starting point.

Legacy — a spin-off, not an on-ramp

Ward inserts the Legacy novels among the later Brotherhood books:

House rule: read Brotherhood in her novel order. Insert a Legacy book if you have it and her list puts it after a Brotherhood title you already read. Do not start the franchise on Blood Kiss.
