A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder
It is book one (2019). The two sequels assume that first case file. Do not start with As Good As Dead. Do not start with Kill Joy.
A finished trilogy plus a prequel novella. Publication of the three novels first is the house path.
The trilogy
| # | Title | Year | Notes | Amazon |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2019 | Start here. | Amazon | |
| 2 | 2020 | Amazon | ||
| 3 | 2021 | Closes Pip’s three. | Amazon |
Extra
| Title | Year | Notes | Amazon |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2021 | Prequel novella. After the trilogy, or after book one if you already have it. Not an on-ramp. | Amazon |
House rule: read the three novels. Kill Joy is optional texture. The Reappearance of Rachel Price is a different Jackson book, not AGGGTM 4.
The TV adaptation is a cousin of book one. It is not a reason to skip to book three.
Common mistakes
- Starting with As Good As Dead.
- Treating Kill Joy as book one because it is “earlier.”
- Mixing in Rachel Price as a continuation.
What to read next
- Thursday Murder Club (Richard Osman) — If you want accumulating amateurs, warmer and older.
- The Housemaid (Freida McFadden) — If you want another short contemporary crime run with a real sequel hook.
- Cormoran Strike (Robert Galbraith) — If you want a longer professional case file.
- Stop after As Good As Dead. The three are a complete visit.
- The Reappearance of Rachel Price (Holly Jackson) — If you want her other door, as itself.
