Twilight
It is book one (2005). Midnight Sun is the same first novel from the other shoulder, published later. Do not start there. Do not start with Breaking Dawn.

House rule: read the four. Midnight Sun is aftercare or a reread toy. Starting there hands you book one’s events with a different narrator and none of the original door.
The films follow the four more closely than most adaptations. Film order is still not a reason to skip New Moon.

- Starting with Midnight Sun because it is the newest thick book.
- Starting with Breaking Dawn because of a film still.
- Treating Life and Death as Twilight 5.
