Broken Earth reading order

Broken Earth is a finished trilogy. Publication order is the only path. There is no prequel novel hiding in front of The Fifth Season.

Each book continues the same argument. Lists that call any of them standalone are doing cover-copy work, not reading-order work.

Shorts and extras

Jemisin has published related short fiction around this world. Those pieces are optional and are not a fourth novel. Do not postpone book one until you have hunted every magazine appearance.

There is no contested chronology that moves The Stone Sky first. If a chart tries, ignore it.
